Bronies, Pegasisters and the MLP Fandom Empty Bronies, Pegasisters and the MLP Fandom

This is not a place to discuss "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" as a show. Please see the MLP topic in Television and Theater for that, or if one has not been created, you are free to start the topic yourself.

An "issue" with many sides to it, the My Little Pony fandom has attracted huge amounts of attention over the last few years. I do not have much to say about the fandom itself--I happen to be a member of it, but I understand that others are not, and have nothing against them (unless they think that being a Brony automatically makes you a lunatic, in which case, screw them)--no, I am more interested in discussing an aspect of the fandom that many seem to denote and despise: clopping.

Clopping, if you are not already aware, is the act of masturbating to My Little Pony erotic fan fiction or art. It is a bit shocking the first time you hear about it, but something I have grown to accept; I am certainly not against in any way. A person has the freedom to do whatever he or she wants, and I really do not think that the act of clopping is any more disgusting than the act of normal masturbation (something that, if you believe should not be done, may be discussed in a different topic). But personal opinions aside, there are definitely downsides to clopping and MLP pornography that need to be addressed.
The most important would be children. The amount of MLP pornography has become so ridiculously immense that it has spilled into search engines--even those with Safe Search enabled. Pornography existing is not a problem, arguably (one of the reasons I support clopping is because creators of the pornography do it willingly, as opposed to other forms of pornography, which are done for the need of money, so that many of its participants are unwilling), but it is not okay for children to be exposed to this sort of stuff, especially not on their own (a parent may be able to supervise Google and YouTube searches and skip over anything inappropriate, while a child exploring on their own would not know what and what not to avoid).
Because there is no way that we will be able to reign in the art and fan fictions and censor everything we currently have, I believe that simplest solution is for parents to be aware of the amount of mature My Little Pony-related material and guide their kids away from it without banning them from watching the show. It is a kid show, after all, and a quality one at that, but much of the online MLP content is not nearly as appropriate as we'd like.
